1.1kg is light enough that you can hold it for an entire herd check without your forearm cramping up, and the 5200mAH lithium battery will keep it running for over 6 hours straight — we've seen vets push it to 7 in cooler conditions, but that's pushing it.
What it does is give you B, 2B, 4B, B/M, and M modes on a 5.7" color LED screen, and the gain range goes from 0 to 127dB so you can dial in the image for a thick-coated dog or a lean horse without losing detail. The standdard 6.5MHz linear rectal probe is what most buyers go with for reproductive work on cattle and mares, but you can swap to a 4.0MHz or 3.5MHz convex for deeper abdominal scans, or a 7.5MHz linear for small animal tendons.
We usually have stock of RKU10 with the 6.5MHz probe, but if you need custom labeling on the unit or want the probes bundled differently for your clinic's workflow, just tell us — lead time is usually 20 days or so for custom vial sizes or concentration adjustments, but that's not something you'd normally need here. The thing handles temperatures form 10°C to 40°C while operating, which is fine for barn work, but it won't like being left in a truck at -20°C overnight.
Storage temp is -20°C to 60°C and humidity runs 30% to 85% RH, so it's not splash-proof or dust-proof like some ruggedized units, but the soft rubber coating gives it a decent grip in wet hands. The 0-127dB gain range is actually pretty generous — most comparable units cap around 100dB, so you've got more headroom for fine-tuning when the animal won't stay still.
It's not suited for deep cardiac imaging in large animals — the 6.5MHz linear just doesn't have teh penetration for that, you'd want the 3.5MHz convex for that job. Anyway, you'll get a 1-year warranty, CE and ISO13485 certs, and the AC adapter works on 100-240V so it travels fine.
The MOQ is typically 1 unit, but we can discuss volume discounts if you need 10 or more. Just let us know your quantity.
We include CE and ISO13485 certificates with each unit. These cover quality management and safety standards for medical devices.
Yes, the 4.0MHz convex probe is available as an option. It works with the same main unit for deeper imaging on horses or cattle.
Lead time is usually 5-7 business days for standard orders. Custom probe bundles may add a couple of days.
Keep it in a cool, dry place between -20°C and 60°C, with humidity under 85%. The lithium battery holds charge well for months if stored properly.
