Basically, what it does is give you a full diagnostic portable unit that doesn't tie you to a cart—it's got the 12.1" LED with 256 grey scale which makes a real difference when you're scanning soft tissue or trying to differentiate cysts from solid masses in a small organ exam. B, B/B, 4B, B+M, and M modes are all there, and you'll notice the 4-segment electronic focusing cleans up the edges on deeper structures pretty well.
2, we use it for general abdominal and OB/GYN work mostly, but the frequency range from 2.5MHz up to 7.5MHz (depending on which probe you pick, convex or linear) means you can handle cardiac or urinary cases too. The 16 pseudo color options are better than having none, honestly—most buyers go with the convex probe setup since it covers 80% of what you'd need. 0-120dB range is adjustable, so you can dial in the contrast on a bright day or for a faint gallstone.
It's not suited for high-end cardiac flow studies because you don't have a dedicated doppler mode on this model, but for gestational weeks measurements and basic heart rate, the measurement package covers distance, area, volume, and cardiac calculations. The image storage holds at least 128 images, which for a field unit is usually enough—though if you're doing back-to-back scans all day, you'll want to dump to USB pretty regularly. Also, the battery life is advertised at 8 hours continuous, but in real use with the screen brightness up, you'll get 5-6 hours or so before it's blinking.
That 2.5kg weight (309x312x68mm) means it fits in a standerd rolling bag, and the Li-ion/AC power setup means you can run it off a car inverter or a wall outlet without issue. One thing we get asked is about the ultrasound gel compatibility—any standard gel works, but don't use silicone-based ones on the array, they'll degrade the lens. CE, FDA, and ISO13485 all on file, and we send a COA with each unit (though that's mostly for internal tracking, not always a custmer requrement).
For ordering, typical MOQ is 5 units if you're stocking an ER or clinic group, but our company can do single units too—check lead time on those because we don't hold them in bulk. 2.5kg weight, it ships via air freight—usually 3-4 weeks door-to-door once payment clears. You'll get the probe of your choice (convex is default, linear is optional) and a charging dock; the battery is replaceable if it starts degrading after a year or so.
