So we've been going back and forth on diode lasers for a while now, and I finally pulled the trigger on the MNLT-D1 model — it's the triple wavelength unit with the sapphire cooling, and the specs line up pretty well with what we need for the clinic. The 755nm, 808nm, and 1064nm combo means our company can handle most skin types without swapping machines, which was a big factor since about 30% of our clients have tanned or darker skin.
It runs on a USA Coherent laser bar, which is what most buyers go with for reliability, and the handle power ranges from 800W to 2000W depending on the setting you're using. The total system power is 4200W, so you'll need a dedicated circuit for it — we usually have stock, but confirm lead time on the 220V version since that's what we ordered. Frequency goes from 1Hz up to 10Hz, and there are three spot sizes (15x18mm, 15x26mm, and 15x36mm) so you can switch between smaller areas like the upper lip and larger ones like legs without much hassle.
One thing I didn't expect was how heavy the crate is — gross weight is 85kg, so factor that into shippng costs if you're not on the ground floor. The unit itself is 60kg, dimensions are 62x64x134cm, and it has a 15.6-inch color touch screen with 16 languages on the interface, which is handy if your techs aren't all native English speakers.
Anyway, the cooling system is TEC plus water circulation and a sapphire tip, which basically keeps the skin form burning during treatment — it's not suited for very thin or scarred tissue, but for standerd hair removal it's fine. The certifications are CE, TUV, and ISO 13485, so we're covered for compliance, and the warranty is 2 years which is better than reagent grade for this kind of equipement. We ordered the 110V/60Hz version for our US location, and the MOQ was just one unit (usually 2-4 weeks lead time).
Also, the handle has a bit of heft to it — about 1.5kg or so — so longer sessions might fatigue the operator if they're not used to it, but the spot size options help speed things up. We went with the 15x26mm as our primary because of that it's good middle ground for most body areas, and the 15x18mm for finer work.
The 755nm wavelength targets light skin and fine hair, 808nm penetrates deeper for all skin types and hair thickness, and 1064nm is best for dark skin and deep hair follicles. Together, they let you treat a wider range of clients in a single session.
