We had a crew out in a new subdivision last week, running drops to 48 homes, and what it does is it saves us about 15 minutes per termination—no epoxy, no polishing, just strip, cleave, and click it in, which is pretty much the whole point when you're on a tight schedule.
Typical insertion loss runs about 0.15dB or so, with a max of 0.35dB, and return loss hits at least 55dB on the APC version—that's better than most field-terminated connectors we've tested, and the ceramic ferrule holds up for 500 mating cycles without noticeable drift.
It works fine for FTTH and FTTx drops, but we wouldn't recommend it for data center patch panels where you're re-terminating every week—the 0.9mm, 2.0mm, and 3.0mm cable diameters cover most outdoor drops, though teh 2.0x3.0mm flat cable can be a bit fiddly to seat properly in cold weather (below -20°C or so, jacket stiffens up).
Anyway, we usually have stock on the green APC and blue UPC versions, but the 0.9mm boots are sometimes backordered—confirm lead time if you're ordering more than 500 units.
We typically require a MOQ of 500 pieces for the SC/APC fast connector, but we can be flexible for trial orders. Just let us know your volume.
For an order of 2000 units, lead time is about 7-10 business days. If you need it faster, we can prioritize for a small rush fee.
Yes, we supply a test report with every batch showing insertion loss ≤0.15dB typical and return loss ≥55dB for APC. RoHS, CE, and ISO9001 certs are available on request.
Absolutely, the SC/APC fast connector supports 0.9mm, 2.0mm, 3.0mm, and 2.0x3.0mm cable diameters. Just specify the size when ordering.
Store them in a clean, dry place at room temperature, ideally between -20°C and 60°C. Keep the dust caps on to prevent dirt on the ceramic ferrule.
