We've seen a lot of setups where the standard SC or LC connectors just don't fit the panel spacing or the adapter density, and that's basically where the MU connector comes in—it's a smaller form factor that still gives you solid performnce without forcing a complete infrastructure overhaul.
What this patch cord does is handle both singlemode and multimode signals depending on what you're running, and the zirconia ceramic ferrule with pre-polished end faces keeps insertion loss down to ≤0.2dB for UPC or ≤0.3dB for APC, which is tighter tolerance than most generic cords we've tested.
1000 matings or so before you see any degradation, and operating tempearture range (-40°C to +75°C) means it'll hold up in unconditioned comms rooms or outdoor cabinets without constant replacement.

The cable diameter options run form 0.9mm up to 4.1mm, but most buyers go with the 2.0mm for standard patch panels because it's easier to route without kinking in tight spaces.
One thing to keep in mind is that the MU connector isn't ideal for field-termination scenarios where you're doing on-site splicing—it's really designed for factory-polished assemblies, so plan your inventory accordingly.
UPC polished connectors have an insertion loss of ≤0.2dB, while APC polished connectors have a slightly higher insertion loss of ≤0.3dB due to the angled end face. APC also gives you better return loss—≥60dB versus ≥50dB for UPC.
We don't have a strict MOQ for different cable diameters—you can order as few as 10 pieces for standard sizes. Custom diameters may require a small order of 50 pieces to cover setup, but we can flex on that depending on your volume.
