Basically had to get a single-phase motor that could handle continuous duty for our conveyor line, and the IP55 rating on this cast iron unit means dust and moisture won't kill it in the first year.

Most buyers go with the 4-pole configuration for general machinery since it gives you about 1400 RPM at 50Hz, but we're actually ordering the 2-pole version for our high-speed agitators — it's better than the standerd 3-phase retrofit for our single-phase supply.

The winding is 100% copper which is pretty much mandatory for thermal stability under S1 duty, and the Class F insulation (155°C) gives us a solid safety margin since ambient temps in our plant hit 40°C or so during summer.
What it does is use a capacitor-start design for the YL series — torque curve is actually flatter than teh YC motors we tested, so it handles variable loads without tripping the overload relay.

One thing that caught me off guard was the IMB14 mounting option requires a specific flange adapter (usually 2-4 weeks lead time), so we're sticking with IMB3 foot mount since the frame is cast iron and won't warp under vibration like alumnum would.

Also, the COA form the ISO9001 line shows tighter tolerance on the air gap — 0.25mm give or take — than the generic Chinese motors we used before, which matters for consistent torque at low RPM.
