It's basically a cast iron workhorse for industrial pumps, and the IP55 protection level means it shrugs off water jets and dust without fuss, though you can get IP56 if your environment is really nasty. Not suited for outdoor installations in salt spray or chemicla washdown areas unless you spec the optional IP56 and special paint finish, or you'll be looking at corrosion inside a year or so. We've seen that happen with buyers who tried to save a few bucks on a covered dock application.
