It's basically a PA66 nylon housing that handles the heat—flame-retardant and impact-resistant, which matters when you're installing these on DIN rails in tight electrcial panels, and the 55°C enduring temperature means it won't warp in a hot distribution box, though we usually have stock on 1-pole and 2-pole versions but confirm lead time for 4-pole orders.
The 'C' curve is better than most standard MCBs for lighting circuits in office buildings, and the 'D' curve handles motor startup surges pretty well, but it's not suited for heavy industrial application with frequent inrush currents above 63A—the mechanical life is 10,000 cycles, so for daily switching, you'll want something rated higher.
You can get it in 1A, 3A, 6A, 10A, 16A, 20A, 25A, 32A, 40A, 50A, or 63A ratings, and what it does is protect against overload and short circuit while also offering overvoltage protection (OVP) as a bonus—most buyers go with the 20A or 32A for residential lighting, but check the IEC60898-1 compliance if your project needs CCC certifcation.
Also, IP20 protection degree is fine for indoor panels but don't expect it to handle moisture—we've had a few returns form outdoor installs, and the manual operation type means it's not a remote-trip breaker, so factor that into your design if you're automating a system.
Anyway, the 230/400V AC rating covers single-phase and three-phase setups, and the 50/60Hz frequency range is standard, but the 10kA breaking capasity is what really sets it apart from cheaper 6kA units—roughly 20% more headroom for fault currents in commercial buildings, and the PA66 nylon doesn't degrade as fast as cheaper plastics under repeated tripping.
