Customizable Spring Washers with High Load Capacity for Structural Steelwork Applications

Basically it's a conical spring washer designed to handle heavy pre-tensioning in structural steelwork — think pressure vessels or power transmission where joint relaxation is a real headache, and we make them in sizes from M3 up to M36, though non-standard dimensions are no problem if you send a drawing.

We've hardened and tempered them to HRC 44-52, which gives a pretty high load capasity, and disc spring design means you get about 70-90% of the bolt's contact pressure, so it compensates for subsidence and thermal expansion without loosening up over time (usually 20 days or so lead time for custom runs).

Most buyers go with 304 or 316 stainles for corrosive environments, but carbon steel with black oxide or Dacromet coating works fine for indoor structural work — the 65Mn steel option is better than standard spring steel for this, actually, since it holds tension tighter under cyclic loads.

For ordering, our company can do trial orders of 50 units or so to test fit, then scale up — just confirm the surface treatment (zinc plated is cheapest, but Dacromet holds up better in wet conditions) and whether you need a COA with HPLC purity data, though that's more for chemcial washers than structural ones.

One thing we've seen is that these aren't great for applications with extreme lateral movement — they're designed for axial preload control, so if you've got shear forces, you'll want a different locking method, but for bolted joints in steel frames or bridges, they're pretty much the standard.
