We've been getting a steady stream of requests from buyers who do fleet maintenance and need a tool that holds up to daily abuse, so I ordered the MT-IW20BL-350 for testing — the brushless motor is the main draw since it cuts maintenance headaches and runs cooler than brushed alternatives, and we usually run 3-4 units through our own bench test before signing off on a larger order.
It's got three torque settings — 85, 230, and 350Nm — and the variable speed goes from 0 to 2,600 rpm, which means you can dial it down for lighter assembly work or crank it up for stubborn bolts on heavy equipment, and the 1/2-inch square drive chuck is pretty standard for most impact sockets we stock.
What really tipped it for me is that the suplier provided batch-specific test data on every unit — they run a 100% load test before shipping and include the torque calibration certifcate in box, so we don't have to waste time chasing COAs or retesting every single tool when it lands in the warehouse.
The weight is 2.5kg or so, which is actually lighter than some 18V models we've handled, and the LED work light is positioned forward enough that it doesn't cast shadows from the chuck — a small detail but one that matters when you're working under a chassis.
Also, they offered a retest policy on the first 50 units if we're not satisfied with teh torque consistency after 200 cycles, which basically covers our quality assurance buffer for new tool lines, and the 60-90 minute charge time on the 3.0Ah battery is decent for a mid-range impact wrench.
Not ideal for high-volume production lines where you need a 1,000Nm tool, but for automotive repair shops and mechanical assembly where 350Nm covers 80% of jobs, it's a solid fit — and we've already got the battery platform from other 21V gear, so charger compatibility isn't an issue.
