We needed something that could handle consistent torque for high-volume assembly without the operator getting fatigued, and this digital cordless model basically replaces the need for a separate power pack or air line on the floor (usually 2-4 weeks lead time when we ordered through our usual distributor).

It tops out at 500nm with ±3% accuracy and runs on an 18V 5.0Ah lithium battery that charges in under 60 minutes — the brushless motor keeps it lighter than the older corded units, and we saw roughly 3.5kg on the scale with battery attached.

What it does is give us a digital readout for setting the torque precisely, and the LCD display works fine even in the colder warhouse conditions down to about -10°C; we've had it running for 20 days or so on a single charge with moderate use, so the battery life is better than we expected from a tool in this weight class.

The 26rpm max speed is slow enough that you won't overshoot the target torque, but for bolting up strucutral steel or heavy machinery, it's actually faster than breaking out a manual torque multiplier and calibrating it every time — most buyers go with the 500nm range for stud- or deck-work.

Anyway, we ordered it through the standard indutrial supply chain, and it came with a CE cert and the typical one-year warranty, though we usually have stock on these but you'll want to confirm the MOQ if you're buying direct form the distributor (they often ship in cases of 4 units or so).

The ABS plastic housing is fine for the shop floor, but it's not shockproof if you drop it onto concrete from height — we keep the impact driver for that kind of abuse, and this one stays on the bench for precise tightening where you can't risk the ±3% drifting off.
