So the IP40 rating means these aren't sealed against water ingress—any liquid exposure will compromise the winding insulation pretty quickly, and the B class insulation (130°C max hot spot) limits your sustained duty cycle. What it does well is deliver that 8000-12000rpm band under load, and the direct on-line start means no soft-start circuitry needed for your test jig. The ball bearings handle the axial thrust better than sleeve-type could at these speeds, and you'll see about 10-12% voltge-related speed droop across the 110-240VAC range. 50/60Hz compatibles.


For continuous duty applicaions where the ambient is above 50°C or where you'd expect condensation, we'd recommend stepping up to the IP44 version (we usually have stock, but confirm lead time). The torque ripple at the lower end of the power band—100W or so—is pretty much nonexistent for this winding configuration. Actually, what a lot of buyers don't think to check is teh shaft runout.
