blue light at 450nm is what you'd reach for when there's suface bacteria involved, it disrupts their cell structure without any contact, and we've seen it used pretty regularly on hot spots and post-surgical sites where you don't want to mess with ointments. 10mw/cm² power density is what it deliver, which is actually tighter tolerance than some human-grade units we've handled.
What it does is combine ten red, ten blue, and six infrared LEDs in a single housing — the 850nm near-infrared penetrates deeper for joint pain or inflammation that sits below the skin, so you're covering three different treatment angles with one pass. It's roughly 350 grams, so you can hold it steady on a cat's hip or a small dog's paw without your arm getting tired.
We usually have stock on teh VET-LED-TH3, but confirm lead time if you need more than 50 units or so — the battery is a 3.7V Li-ion, and it's medical-grade ABS plastic, so it'll take a drop onto a concrete floor (usually 2-4 weeks for larger orders). One thing nobody thinks to ask: the irradiation area is under 12cm², so it's not great for covering a whole large dog's back in one go — you'll need to move it around session by session.
Also, the blue wavelength isn't suited for deep tissue infections — it's surface-level bacterial inhibition only, and the 5-15 minute treatment time is a guideline, not a hard rule; some clinics run it longer for chronic arthritis cases.
