We needed something that wouldn't bog down on repeat cuts through 10mm plate, and the 900W rating with 11000 RPM no-load speed covers that pretty well for a 115mm wheel, it's got enough torque to keep disc from stalling under moderate pressrue, but you wouldn't want to push it on heavy stone scoring all day since that really demands a 180mm unit with higher wattage.
Basically it's a corded unit, 900 rated watts, 11000 RPM no load, spindle thread is M14, disc diameter is 115mm. And it meet CE and GS so we can put it in the workshop without insurance headaches. Voltge is 220-240V ~ 50-60Hz, protection class II so no earth wire needed, which simplifies extension lead use on site (just keep the cable tidy). What it does is provide a decent balance of speed and control for metal fab and general construction —the 11000 RPM is actually better than some 125mm units that spin faster but lose torque, so for 2mm sheet steel this will run smoother than you'd expect. The housing is plastic, not metal, but it's what they call durable plastic and has held up on our test unit after about 40 hours of intermittent grinding on support brackets. We usually have stock of these, but confirm lead time on the 220-240V models since some batches ship only with 110V plugs for the export market—check the packing slip before you open everything.
Accessories in teh box are a carbon brush set, wrench, protection guard, and auxiliary handle. MOQ is one unit so we can order a handful for the trial run. The disc that comes with it is fine for general work but is actually better suited to light stock removal than precision finishing, not what you'd want for a polished edge. 5. Tighter spindle tolerance than most mid-range grinders we've tested, the M14 thread didn't wobble at all on the collet we tried. Anyway, I'd say get three for the workshop crew and see if the motor brushes hold up better than the last batch we bought form a different supplier.
