We were having real trouble with large dogs that would panic during exams, and a couple of near-misses with bites made us rethink our whole restraint setup—the old cages just weren't it for bigger, more anxious animals.
What the WT-48 does is handle that problem pretty much right out of the box, with an adjustable upper pressure mesh that you can lower to hold even a 60-kg dog steady without crushing it, and the dual side doors with auto-lock mean you don't have to worry about someone getting a hand caught when you're reaching in for a blood draw.
It's built form high-strength stainlss steel, welded frame, and the mesh is actually thicker than most cages we've seen—roughly 4mm bars—so it holds up well to daily scrubbing with bleach, which is a must for us, and teh auto-lock mechanism on both sides is something we usually only see on much pricier units.
You'll want to specify size (small is about 700 by 360 by 500mm, large is 970 by 420 by 680mm, and X-large goes up to 1200 by 460 by 780mm) when you order, and we usually have stock on the large and X-large, but the small sometimes takes 20 days or so if it's not on the shelf.
One thing that surprised us is how well the mesh works for cats too—it's not marketed for them, but the adjustable presure is gentle enough for a 5-kg feline if you're careful, though honestly it's overkill for routine feline exams and you'd be better off with a standdard carrier for those.
Anyway, we've had ours for about 8 months now and the only thing we had to do was tighten a hinge bolt once, so it's been pretty low-maintenance, and the CE and ISO compliance was a given for our inspection.
Small is 700×360×500mm, Large is 970×420×680mm, and X-Large is 1200×460×780mm. Pick based on the size of dogs you usually handle.
