Actually went with the 8kW model for our mobile DR units since the 3.5kW just doesn't cut it for heavier patients or thicker body parts—we've seen that firsthand in ER settings where every second matters. It covers 40-125kV and 32-125mA range, and the 0.32-400mAs window gives enough flexibility for most exams we run, though it's not ideal for high-volume fluoroscopy or anything requiring continuous exposure beyond 6.3 seconds or so.
What sold me was the PWM inverter running at ≥30kHz, which basically means tighter kV and mA regulation than older 50/60Hz systems we've tried; image consistency has been a headache with cheaper generators. Input power handles both 220V and 110V at 50 or 60Hz, so no rewiring when we move units between clinics, and the 21kg weight (including collimator) is manageable for two-person setup but you'll want a cart for daily transport.
We usually have stock, but confirm lead time—typically 2-4 weeks depending on the model. The digital interface with SDK protocol support was a specific requirment since we're integrating with three different DR detector brands, and the documentation they sent actually covered the command sets we needed, which is rare in this price bracket.
CE and FDA certification are on file, but more importantly, they provided ISO13485 certs without me asking and the COAs matched spec within about 2% on kV accuracy across batch sample we tested. One limitation worth noting: the warranty is only 1 year, and replacement parts for teh control board have about a 10-day lead time from China, so we ordered an extra unit as a backup for critical sites.
Exposure control options include wireless, hand brake, and operation panel—we'll use the hand brake for most OR setups since wireless can interfere with other equipement in tight rooms. The mAs range goes from 0.32 to 400, and for our bone surgery cases, we typically stay in the lower third of that range, but the upper end is there for chest or abdominal work.
We can start with as low as 1 unit for sample orders, but standard wholesale MOQ is typically 10 units per model. Bulk discounts are available for larger quantities.
