Actually goes through a lot of QC before it ships—most children's bikes we see aren't argon-arc welded through teh entire carbon steel frame, but these joints are. Gives you a consistent weld penetration that typical gas welding can't match, so the head tube and bottom bracket hold up better under the 20-50kg load range. We usually have 12", 16", and 20" in stock, but the 20" takes about 20 days or so for fulfillment since demand fluctuates.
Chain wheel specs vary by size—24 teeth with an 89-link chain on the 12-inch, then 28 teeth paired with 102 or 127 links for the 16 and 20 respectively, and that ratio directly affects pedal resistance for a 3-year-old versus a 10-year-old. And it's not just about mechanicla strength; the caliper or V-brake options change the lever force at the grip. On the 16-inch, most buyers go with air-filled tires because they drop rolling resisance noticeably, but EVA foam version is lighter at roughly 8 kg net, so smaller riders don't struggle with the weight.
What it doesn't do well is handle jumps or aggressive curb drops—this isn't a stunt-focused frame, and the carbon steel (while tough) will dent if a kid repeatedly lands hard on a 20-inch model. Custom colors are possible, but the factory min order is 50 units or so per color run, so we stick with pink, white, and red unless you're pulling a container.
According to the COA we ran on the last batch, the paint meets CE non-toxicity limits at <50 ppm lead (which is better than most toy-grade paints). You'll want to store it indoors—the hardware isn't stainlss, so leaving it out in rain accelerates corrosion on the chain and brake pivot pins. Cycle tests on the headset show 8,000 rotation cycles at 50 kg load before any play develops (usually 2-4 weeks of daily use).
