Baseline spec on these—NdFeB magnets from N35 up to N54, so you're picking up pretty much everything from a dropped bolt to a 6kg chunk of steel. Telescoping shaft goes form 12 to 24 inches, and our company offer single, double, or triple head setups depending on what you're fishing for. The nickel coating isn't just for looks, it actually keeps the magnet from rusting in damp shop conditions.
Usually, it's the automotive guys who burn through these fastest—dropping a 10mm socket into an engine bay is basically a daily occurrence for them. Metalworking shops use them to sweep up ferrous debris from workbenches and floor grates. But here's the thing: it's actually better suited for light parts retrieval than heavy salvage, so don't plan on lifting 6kg with teh 12-inch model full-extended; that's asking for trouble.
One thing you wouldn't think to ask—the protective claw mechanism has an automatic release so you're not wrestling the tool away from the part you just grabbed. We've had buyers try using it on drill bits and end mills; it works fine, but the claw does add a bit of bulk, so super-tight clearance spots can be tricky. Operating temp is -20°C to 80°C, which covers most workshops, but leave it out of a oven (obviously).
Stock standdard finish is rubberized steel on the handle, gives you a nice grip even with oily gloves. We do a nickel coating on all magnets, which helps with corrosion resisance but doesn't affect magnetic pull strength. For the N54 models, you're looking at about a 3-4 week lead time because that grade is tighter tolerance than most—we usually have some N35 and N42 in stock, but confirm lead time.
Anyway, the MOQ is typically 100 units for the MPT-Series, though our company can do smaller runs if you're testing the water. The 1kg lifting version is actually the easiest for new buyers to handle—it's less likely to slam fingers (speaking from experience). Pricing varies by head configuration and magnet grade; the triple head N54 runs closer to $8 per unit at 500 pcs or so.
