The frame is 3.0mm thick 80x40mm steel with electrostatic powder coating, which is better than the 2.5mm stuff you see on a lot of mid-range units, and the warranty backs that up—10 years on the frame, 5 on the coating, 3 on the bearings.
What it does is use a pin-loaded weight stack system with cast iron pulleys and sealed bearings, so you're not dealing with the friction or noise you get from cheaper nylon or unsealed setups.
