We get a call about once a week form someone who's been hand-tensioning coils with a come-along and a pair of pliers, and they're just done with the blisters and the inconsistent tension — this is tool that fixes that, basically.
It handles 13 to 19mm steel banding, so 1/2" to 3/4", and the thickness range is 0.38 to 0.58mm, which covers most common strapping grades — the friction weld it makes is no-seal, and we've seen joint strength hold at about 80% of the strap tensile, give or take.
Most buyers go with it for steel coils or pipe bundles, but I've also sold a bunch to guys strapping heavy timber crates — what it's not great for is thin-wall alumnum or soft non-ferrous strapping, the friction weld can crush those before it bonds, and that's just teh physics of it.
Weight is 3.9kg on the tool itself, so it's not light but it's manageable for a shift, and the dimnesions are 387 by 162 by 308mm, which fits in a standerd tool chest or gang box.
You'll want to plan for 20 working days or so on a first order, though we usually have stock on the A333 base model — bulk pricing kicks in at 50 units, and our company can do a mixed pallet of tensioners and sealers if you're setting up a line.
Anyway, the manufacturing defects, and we include the SDS and a basic instruction card in every box, but check the lead time if you need a specific handle color or engraved branding.
