We've got the carbon steel version with a full chrome plating that's about 15 microns thick or so, and it carries both TUV and GS cerification which some buyers need for compliance in European markets, though honestly most folks just want to know it won't rust after a few weeks in a damp toolbox.
The surface is what it is—that chrome finish isn't just for looks, it actually helps the wrench slide into tight spots easier than a matte black one would, and it wipes clean with a rag if you get grease on it (usually 2-4 weeks for custom orders depending on size and quantity).
One thing people don't always think to ask is that teh anti-explosion version uses a different alloy blend than the standard one, so if you're working in a volatile enviornment you'll want to specify that up front—the anti-magnetic variant is also available but we don't stock it as often.
For the common sizes, we keep about 200 units on hand in metric and American standard, but British and German types need a production run of 50 units or so before our company can set up the tooling, and lead time for those typically runs 3-4 weeks.
Anyway, when you place an order you'll get a COA with HPLC purity data and a physical sample if you ask for it, though we usually ship the whole batch once we confirm the specs match your originial inquiry.
