The NMD90 wire is a high-quality non-metallic sheathed cable designed for both exposed and concealed work in dry or damp locations. With a maximum allowable conductor temperature of 90°C, this wire offers excellent performance in various electrical applications.
Applications of NMD90 cables include building wiring where they can be used for both exposed work in dry locations or concealed work in dry or damp locations. The minimum recommended installation temperature is -25°C for two-conductor cables and -10°C for three-conductor cables (with suitable handling procedures).
The construction features solid 14-10 AWG soft, uncoated copper conductors per ASTM-B3 standards, with stranded 8 AWG conductors and larger. The insulation consists of color-coded Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) compound meeting the required thickness of Type THHN with a heat-stabilized Nylon jacket rated for 90°C in dry locations.
Key features include a 30-mil, color-coded PVC jacket applied over the completed assembly, with different colors indicating different AWG sizes: 14 AWG White, 12 AWG Yellow, 10 AWG Orange, 8 AWG Black, and 6 AWG Black.
The product meets various standards including ASTM, CSA C22.2 No. 48 (non-metallic sheathed cable), and Canadian Electrical Code requirements. The maximum voltage rating for all intended applications is 300 volts.
Available sizes range from 14/2 to 6/3 AWG, with different specifications for each size including number of strands, ground wire size, insulation thickness, allowable ampacity, outside diameter, and approximate net weight per 1000 feet.
