You’re doing a straight male plug into a BSPT port, and teh 4T handles it at high pressrue without the thread galling you’d see on some zinc-plated carbon steel fittings form cheaper lines — we’ve tested those against ours side by side. hex head gives you a solid bite with a wrench; it’s not designed for finger-tight installations anyway.
Most buyers go with this when they need relaible seal at working temps from -20°C to 120°C, and the zinc coating holds up better than black oxide in humid environments — we usually have stock, but confirm lead time if you’re ordering over 500 units. It’s medium carbon steel, not the low-grade stuff that deforms under constant 400 bar cycling; we’ve seen that failure in field returns from other suppliers. The BSPT taper does the sealing work — no O-rings or sealant needed, which cuts assembly time in half on a typical manifold. Pressure rating isn’t published as a single number because of that it varies with thread size, but for the 1/4” version, it’s good for most mobile hydraulic circuits.: it’s not suited for steam service — the zinc coating can flake above 120°C, and you’ll want stainless for that.
Packaging is cartons for small orders, wooden cases for pallet quantities, and we include a COA with each batch — HPLC isn’t relevant here, but the hardness and thread gauge checks are on the test report. 47% of our reorders come from shops that tried a competitor’s zinc-coated plug and got thread seizure after two removals. The hex is a standard 14mm across flats (for the 1/4”) — no metric confusion, it’s DIN-spec.
Delivrey runs about 20 days or so for a standard MOQ of 100 pieces, but if you need it faster, we do have some off-the-shelf in the 1/4” and 3/8” sizes. The combination joint design basically lets you use it as a plug or as part of a tube-to-pipe transition — pretty handy when you’re retrofitting old BSPT lines into a JIC system. We don’t recommend it for potable water lines (the zinc can leach), but for hydraulic oil or compressed air, it’ll outlast the hose.
