YJV XLPE Insulation LSOH Sheathed Flame Retardant Power Cable 5*185mm² for Industrial Use

We've been using the NH-YJV22-5*185 for the new substation feed, and it's basically what you'd expect form a solid industrial cable. The 0.6/1kV rating covers our main distribution runs without issue, and the LSOH sheath was non-negotiable for the underground tunnel section.

The circular stranded copper conductor meets IEC 60228 class 2, so conductivity is consistent and termination is straightforward with standard lugs. What I didn't expect was the bending radius tolerance — 15(d+D)±5% for multi-core means we could pull it through tighter conduit paths than the old cable. The XLPE insulation handles 90°C continuous, which gives us headroom for derating in the crowded cable tray, and short-circuit rating at 250°C means we don't have to oversize for fault conditions.

Most buyers go with the standard black LSOH sheath, but you can customize the insulation color if needed — we opted for phase-colored cores to speed up identification during commissioning. The wooden steel drum packaging is fine for site handling, though confirm lead time if you need less than a full drum (usually 2-4 weeks).

Anyway, the flame retardant property are certified to IEC 60502, and the low smoke zero halogen characteristic is critical for our power station environment. It's better than PVC-jacketed cable for this applicaion because our company can't risk corrosive gases in a fire scenario. Not suited for direct burial without additonal mechanical protection though — sheath is tough but not armored like the steel-wire variants.

One thing the spec sheet doesn't tell you is that the outer diameter is slightly larger than typical PVC cables of teh same ampacity, so check tray fill before ordering. We usually have stock on the 5*185mm², but the CE and CCC certifications were verified upfront by our quality team.
