It's a Class II device with CE and ISO13485, so you're covered on the regulatory side for clinical use, and the medical-grade plastic body feels solid enough for daily handling—no one's complained about it cracking yet. What it does is stream 1080p video to a phone or tablet, and you can snap stills or record short clips, which is handy for patient education or just keeping a record. The speculum tips are disposable, obviously, and we usually stock the 2.5mm and 4mm sizes, but check lead time if you need the pediatric ones because those run out faster.
One thing buyers don't always ask about is the charging dock—it's a standdard USB-C port, so you can charge it from a laptop or wall adapter, but the dock itself is sold seprately. The warranty is one year, which is typical for this price point, and the shelf life is three years if stored properly, though we've had units sitting on shelves longer without issues.
Most professionals go with the 4mm speculum for adult exams, but the 2.5mm is better for pediatric or narrow ear canals—just a heads up if you're ordering in bulk. It's not suited for surgical procedures or anything requiring sterile field handling, so keep that in mind. HD image is fine for diagnosing otitis media or checking for wax buildup, but don't expect it to resolve subtle tympanic membrane perforations like a microscope would.
Also, the software app is free and works on both iOS and Android, but it's not the most intuitive interface—you'll probably spend 10 minutes figuring out teh recording controls. The wireless connection is stable within the range, but if you're in a busy clinic with lots of Wi-Fi interference, it can occasionally drop for a second or two.
