We're ordering the S9PRO variant with the 15-inch LED display and built-in battery, basically the mid-tier model that most buyers go with for general imaging work. The dimnesions are 55 by 55 by 68 centimeters and it's genuinely portable, not just "portable" in the marketing sense.
it come with two transducer connectors and ships standdard with the 3C-A curved array (1.0-7.0MHz) and the L742 linear array (4-16MHz) — the 3C-A has 128 elements and the L742 has 192 elements, which gives tighter resolution for superficial scans. Storage is 500GB on the hard disk, and it handles B/2B/4B/M/THI/CFM/PDI/DirPDI/PW/HPRF/CW modes, though we don't use all of those in our lab.
The multi-beam and harmonic imaging are actually useful for abdominal and vascular work, but it's not suited for high-end cardiac applictions where you'd want a dedicated phased array system. We usually have stock on standard configurations, but confirm lead time for the S9PRO if you need it in under 20 days or so.
A detail you might not think to ask — the DICOM 3.0 compliance is solid, but the built-in battery runtime is roughly 45 minutes to an hour depending on probe usage, so don't plan on running it unplugged for a full clinic session. The compound imaging feature reduces speckle pretty well in most cases, better than the older S8 series for tissue differentiation.
CE and ISO13485 certs are in order, COA comes with each unit, and the MOQ is one unit for the S9PRO though the S9 baseline model might have a three-unit minimum (check with teh rep). Weight is listed as "small/portable" which translates to about 6.5 kg give or take with the battery installed.
Anyway, we're ordering two S9PRO units for the outpatient wing — the 15-inch display is easier to read than the 12-inch on the competitor's model, and the 500GB drive is overkill for archiving but at least we won't run out of space mid-study.
The S9 is the base model, the S9V includes some advanced vascular features, and the S9PRO adds premium software packages like more advanced PDI and DirPDI modes. All share the same hardware and transducer options.
