It's made with 0.9% benzyl alcohol as the preservative, which keeps it sterile for multiple draws, and the pH sits between 5.0 and 7.0—nothing fancy, but that range works with just about any peptide you'd reconstitute, though I wouldn't use it for anything that needs a buffer system because of that it's just water.
Basically, what it does is it's sterile filtered and sealed in vials, so you avoid contamination issues you'd get with open bottles, and the 99% purity is better than reagent grade for this appliction because you don't want extra ions floating around that could mess with your solubility.
