Had a custmer last week who tried a cheap plastic trike form the big box store first — wheels started wobbling after two weeks, and the kid just outgrew the tiny seat before they could even enjoy it, so they came to us looking for something that would actually last through their 4-year-old's growth spurt.
We're using a steel frame here that's better than most of the lightweight alloy stuff you'll see on Amazon, and the EVA wheels on this one are 10 inches — they don't puncture or deflate like rubber, and they handle pavement, grass, or gravel pretty smoothly (the wide wheelbase helps with that tipping issue too, which is a common complaint with cheaper trikes). 77x60x33cm overall dimensoins, 19kg net weight, so it's heavy enough to feel sturdy but not impossible to move around.
Adjustable seat means you can slide it back as the kid grows — most buyers set it to middle position first and then move it out after 6 months or so, and teh non-slip pedals are a nice touch for when they're still figuring out foot placement. One thing though — the limited turning radius is great for safety, but it means they won't be doing sharp U-turns in tight hallways, so if your space is cramped, maybe measure first. We see a lot of daycare buyers using these for outdoor play, actually, since the padded seat makes longer rides more comfortable.
