You're on a commercail rooftop with 200+ MC4 connectors to terminate and your wrist is already aching—the 1.2-ton ratchet mechanism on this carbon steel unit cuts through teh crimping without that piston-pump fatigue, and we've got the emergency release switch because someone inevitably jams a 10 AWG into the 6 mm² die by mistake.
It handles 2.5, 4, or 6 mm² (roughly 14-10 AWG) with interchangeable dies that swap out in seconds, and the black oxide finish on carbon steel holds up better than chrome in damp conditions, but the 270mm length actually feels a bit short (or so) for gloved hands in tight combiner boxes.
Most buyers go with the standdard die set for single-use appliction, but if you're switching wire gauges between projects, that locator pin saves about 20 seconds per crimp—not a dealbreaker, but actually noticeable on a 500-connector day. One limitation: it's not built for fine-strand automotive wire (the ratchet over-crushes it) so stick to solar-grade terminals. Stock typically runs 50 units or so, but we usually have it—confirm lead time (usually 10-14 days) before placing the PO.
Packaing is 20 pieces per carton (40x38x32 cm) and the MOQ is one carton, though we've broken that for smaller shops before.

The dies are interchangeable, but we only offer dies for 2.5/4/6 mm² as standard. Custom dies would require a minimum order quantity—reach out to discuss.

Keep it in a dry place, ideally in the original carton. The black oxide coating helps prevent rust, but avoid humid environments to keep the ratchet mechanism smooth.
