We've been handling this gold-plated copper alloy wire for about eight years now, mostly for clients in precision electronics who need something that won't corrode or lose conductivity in tough environments, and honestly, the core is what makes it work—99.99% OFC copper, not the standard stuff, with a 24K gold plate that's actually uniform across the whole spool.
Most buyers ask about diameter first, and our company can go from 0.02mm up to 2.0mm, so it covers everything form tiny signal lines to heavier power connections, but plating thickness is where you need to think, with standard being 1μm and custom from 0.3μm to 10μm depending on how much flexing or heat you're expecting.
The stranded version gets over 5000 bend cycles, which is better than most for applicaion like robotics arms or test probes, but single-strand is tighter and cleaner for static setups where signal integrity matters more—basically, if it moves a lot, go stranded; if it sits still, single is fine.
We don't do small runs under 50kg as a rule, but we've accepted custom orders for around 40kg or so on occasion, and every batch comes with a COA for the gold thickness (usually to two decimals) and resistivity, though you'll want to confirm lead time because we sometimes have stock on 0.1mm and 0.5mm diameters but not always the odd sizes.
Certifcation-wise, it passes RoHS and REACH, and we're ISO 9001 certified, so pretty much every OEM or OD project I've seen comes through fine with their internal audits—one buyer had me run a second HPLC test on a small sample, and teh 0.3μm plate on a tight tolerance job proved better than reagent-grade alternatives for conductivity.
Yes, we can adjust plating thickness from 0.3μm up to 10μm. For a 50kg order with 5μm plating, typical lead time is about 3-4 weeks, depending on current production load.
We include a Certificate of Compliance with each batch, showing RoHS, REACH, and ISO 9001 compliance. For plating thickness and copper purity, we can also supply a mill test report from our lab upon request.
We can flex on that for initial OEM trials. If you need, say, 10-20kg to test the wire in your process, we can set that up as a custom order, though pricing per kg will be a bit higher.
We package on spools or reels, sealed in anti-tarnish bags with desiccant. Stored in a dry, temperature-controlled environment, the gold plating stays oxidation-free for at least 2 years.
The 5000+ cycle rating is based on room temperature testing. At 250°C continuous, you can expect around 3000-3500 bends before fatigue, since the copper core softens slightly. We can run a specific test if your project requires data at that temp.
