It's basically the cast alumnum backrest that made me go with this one over a few other options we were looking at — most chairs in this range still use molded plastic or steel shell, and that casting holds up way better over time with heavy rotation, especially when you've got patients that lean back hard during extractions or long restorative work.
Teh motor is a 24V DC unit out of Taiwan, which is pretty much standerd for mid-tier chairs now, and it's quieter than the Chinese-sourced ones we tried last year; you get 9 programmable positions on the touch screen panel though the interface takes about 20 minutes to get used to — the memory recall is actually faster than foot pedal cycling once you have the first four positions set.
For the price point (roughly $3,200 to $3,500 depending on the seller), you're getting ISO 13485 and CE Medical certs which cover us for EU export and most US state requirments, though we usually have stock on the 110V 60Hz version and the 220V takes 20 days or so extra for lead time.
Not ideal for high-speed implant surgeonies where you need continuous foot control and no screen distraction, but for general dentistry and oral surgery it's fine — the rotatable ceramic spittoon is one of those details assistants will notice; the ceramic holds up better than plastic against stain buildup after about six months of use.
Power draw is 0.8kW peak so standard 15A circuits handle it, water pressrue needed is 0.2 to 0.4MPa and air at 0.5 to 0.8MPa — if your building has lower city pressure you'll need a booster, something I didn't think to check until we installed one at a satellite clinic last year.
Also, the LED sensor operating light is fine for 90% of procedures but don't expect it to match a standalone lamp for brightness in deep posterior work — anyway, I ordered two units to start, one with real leather upgrade and one with PU, and we'll swap cushion feedback after the first 50 patient hours.
Our MOQ is 2 units for the GD-S350, but we can sometimes accommodate a single-unit order for first-time buyers — just ask your sales rep.
We include a copy of the ISO 13485 and CE Medical certificates with every shipment. You'll also get a test report for the 24V DC motor and the LED sensor light.
The backrest is cast aluminum with a standard powder-coated finish, usually in white or gray. For custom colors, there's a 50-unit minimum and a 2-week lead time.
It ships in a reinforced plywood crate with foam padding inside. Keep it in a dry, indoor space between -10°C and 50°C, and avoid stacking more than two crates high.
Yes, the touch screen stores up to 9 positions per user, and you can name each profile. We can pre-set positions at the factory if you send us the angles before shipping.
