Looked at half a dozen compact impact wrenches before settling on this one, but the first thing to know is it's not going to out-torque the big full-size 1/2-inch corded guns we've got in the shop, 350Nm puts it in a specific sweet spot for most of our automotive line work where we're not cranking on seized rusted suspension bolts every day.
What it does is trade that ultimate brute force for something we actually need more of around here — portability and battery life, the brushless motor sips power compared to the older brushed units we've been limping along with, so you'll get through a full shift on two 21V batteries without that lag you get when votage drops, it basically keeps pulling steady even when it's been running for a while.
No-load speed tops out at 1800 RPM and impact frequency hits 2200 IPM on the higher setting (check the manual on that because of that it's two-stage — the lower 1800 IPM range works better for smaller fasteners where you don't want to strip threads), teh 1/2-inch square shaft with quick-release chuck lets you swap sockets faster than the old pin-and-ring setup we've been dealing with.
CE and RoHS compliant isn't something the field guys care about, but procurement does, we usually have stock on these but confirm lead time because the last batch took about 20 days or so to land, and at 3.2 pounds body weight (no battery) it's light enough that the guys actually want to use it rather than leaving it in the truck.
Anyway, the composite housing has held up better than I expected given the weight savings — it bounced off a concrete floor last week during a tire change and the housing just scuffed while a metal case would have dented — and the 2-year limited the typical motor and switch failures we see.
Not ideal for heavy impact work like frame straightening or axle nut removal where you'd want something pushing 600-800 Nm, but the price point and runtime balance make it a solid pickup for general repair, just order extra batteries if you're running it hard in colder weather.
