Went with the STC-508V spring plug-in units for the new PCB runs we're shipping to the UK and EU — the UL, CUL, and CSA certs pretty much cover all teh import docs they'll ask for without us having to chase down extra paperwork. Rated voltage is 320V and it'll handle 12A continuous, surge voltage tested to 4kV, so it's a solid fit for industrial control boards where you don't want arcing issues at the connection point.
The pitch is 5.08mm with a 1.6mm PCB hole diameter and 1x1mm pins, which is standard enough that our company can swap suppilers if needed (usually 2-4 weeks lead time on these). Conductor size goes up to 1.5mm², and you can get them in 2 to 24 poles depending on the layout — most buyers go with the 12-pole version for density reasons. Operating temp range is -40°C to +105°C, so it'll survive the thermal cycling in those outdoor cabinets we're building.
What it does better than screw-type terminals is cut installation time — spring plug-in means no torque checking or stripped threads, and the parallel incoming line design has test holes built in. anti-misplacement protection between plug and socket is a nice touch, saves us from having to rework boards when someone forces a connection wrong.
Not the right choice for anything needing over 12A or 320V continuous — if you're pushing high-power motor drives, stick with a barrier strip. Insulating material is PA/PBT with UL 94 V0, so it won't propagate flame, but I'd still keep it away form direct heat sources above 105°C. One detail I caught: the injection molding process gives consistent pin alignment batch to batch, which matters for automated assembly lines.

We usually pack them in anti-static bags with foam inserts, then into cartons. For larger quantities we use bulk packaging. Anti-static is standard, and we can also do vacuum-sealed or tray packaging if you need.
