We’ve seen plenty of convex probes that claim broad frequency ranges but can’t hold a stable signal past 10 MHz, and this one actually delivers usable imaging up to 14 MHz in our experience with the Medison SA9900—typically 80 to 256 elements depending on the build revision you order, so confirm if you need the high-count version for deeper penetration on heavier patients.
The element count isn’t fixed across all batches, and what that means is you get a real trade-off between lateral resolution and scan depth depending on whether you’ve got the 128 or 256 element configuration, but either way the 2-14 MHz sweep gives you enough bandwidth for obstetrical work without swapping probes mid-exam for urological follow-ups.
It’s not ideal for cardiac or vascular applictions—teh convex footprint is too wide for intercostal windows, so stick to abdominal or transabdominal OB/GYN work where the wider aperture actually helps reduce rib shadowing, something buyers often don’t realize until they’ve already run a few scans.
Lead time is roughly 12 working days or so if we have the metal housing variant in stock, and the CE cert covers the full assembly including the plastic lens—pretty much every batch ships with a COA showing impedance matching and cable continuity, though we don’t routinely provide element-by-element frequency sweeps unless you ask at order time.
Basically, if you’re replacing a worn-out C5-2EL for a SA9900 or stocking a spare for clinic rotations, the 1-year defects in the crystal stack and the cable strain relief, but the connector wear form frequent plugging is a consumable issue and not covered—most buyers go with an extra coiled cable sleeve to double the lifespan there.
Anyway, pricing varies with element count so we usually quote based on the 128-element baseline, but the 256-element version runs about 15% higher—our company can hold the price for 30 days or so if you need time to get purchase approval.
