We've had a buyer call in a panic last month because their regular supplier couldn't keep up with a sudden order for 50mm diameter pipe for a greenhouse irrigation project, and we shipped the mold out in about 10 working days—they had it running within two weeks. That's the kind of scenario where having a mold that covers from 3mm up to 70mm really saves you, because you're not scrambling to source a new tool for every odd size.
Roughly speaking, the YY-8010 handles most common thermoplastics like PVC, ABS, PP, and PC without issue, and the die geometry is optimized for wall thickness consistency across that whole diameter range. We've got 12 extrusion lines running these molds, so the output is pretty high once you dial in your melt temperature and screw speed—usually around 20-30 kg/hour depending on the matrial and pipe wall, but that varies. The mold itself is non-custmized, meaning you get a standard design that works for the majority of round pipe jobs, and it's certified CE and RoHS (usually 4-6 weeks for the paperwork if you need it).
People use these for everything from medical tubing on the small end to industrial conduit on the large end, but they're not suited for ultra-high-pressure applicaion—the standard tool steel just isn't hardened enough for that, and you'd want a custom mold with carbide inserts. One thing you might not think to ask: the mold leaves a slight witness line on the inside of pipe from the spider legs, so if surface finish is critical for a cosmetic part, you'll need to polish that out or order a different design. Actually, most buyers go with the 10mm or 20mm diameter for general-purpose work because that's where the demand sits.
Anyway, we usually stock these molds in batches of 10 or so, so lead time is about 15-20 days unless we're between. Just confirm the material type and target diameter when you order, and we'll include the COA with the shipment.
We typically require a minimum order of 50 pieces per size, but we can be flexible on larger diameters like 70mm. Just let us know your exact needs.
They come with RoHS and CE certifications, so you're covered for safety and environmental standards in most markets. We can provide the docs on request.
Right now, these are non-customized and only available in that diameter range. If you need something outside that, we'd need to discuss a new tooling setup.
Each mold is packed in an OPP bag first, then placed in a carton with the dimensions 429x257x100mm. This keeps them secure during transit.
Standard lead time is around 15-20 working days after order confirmation, depending on stock levels. For urgent orders, we can sometimes speed it up.
