We needed something that wouldn't mar surfaces or create sparks in the tighter areas, and the NBR rubber head on this RM-Series model—it's exactly what machinist guys have been asking for, it basically absorbs the impact and doesn't bounce back like a steel hammer would.
It's available in sizes from 6OZ up to 32OZ, which should cover everything from light assembly to heavier demolition work in roofing or electricla installations, and the head diameter runs from 45mm to 71mm depending on the size you pick, the fiberglass handle option is what we usually go with, better than wooden for grip and durability over time, though you can still get wooden if your team prefers it.
The double-faced striking surface is pretty straightforward, just a solid rubber mallet with an explosion-proof design, so it's safe for those areas where stray sparks—say near flammable materials—could be a real problem, and the handle length is about 27-33cm overall, handle is pretty standard for this weight class, 2 inches or so longer than the 24OZ version I think.
Most buyers for construction and general maintenance go with teh 16OZ for daily use, but the 8OZ is better if you're doing trim or furniture assembly where precision matters more than force, 5mg or 10mg depending on your batch—sorry wrong analogy, anyway it's a mallet not a compound, but you get the idea.
Each hammer comes in an OPP bag individually, which keeps the rubber form getting dirty in storage, and the carton box for shipping is standardized, but what a buyer might not think to ask is the custom color handles availble on bulk orders, that can really help with job site tool identification, 50 units or so minimum usually for that.
we usually confirm lead time, there's no COA for this obviously since it's a hammer not a chemical, but the fiberglass handles do have a textured grip that outlasts wood by a year or two in my experience, 3-4 weeks give or take on standard stock orders, assume custom takes longer.
