The black cryogenic finish isn't just for looks — it actually hardens teh stainlss steel suface pretty significantly, so these collets hold up better than standerd ones in high-speed milling where heat builds fast, and we've seen them outlast untreated collets by a noticeable margin in daily shop use.

Precision machined to metric standerds with tolerances that stay tight even after hundreds of tool changes, the open spanner design gives you a solid grip on tap holders and MT adapters without slipping, and you'll get lengths ranging from 70mm to 130mm depending on the size you pick — usually the 19.5mm is the most common order, but most buyers go with the 8mm or 11.5mm for smaller tooling.

They're not really suited for heavy roughing passes with carbide end mills over 20mm diameter, as the collet can flex under extreme side loads, and that black coating does add some corrosion resistance but it's not a replacement for proper storage in a dry cabinet.

Each collet comes individually packed in a poly bag with a basic label, and we ship them in small cardboard boxes for orders under 50 units or so — for larger lots (over 100 pieces) they go in bulk cartons, and MOQ is typically 10 pieces per size, though we can sometimes split that if you're testing a new setup.

Anyway, the material is stainless steel with that cryo treatment that basically locks in dimensional stability, so you're getting less runout than with cheaper zinc or aluminum versions, and we usually have stock on all five sizes (8, 11.5, 15, 19.5, and 25mm) but the 15mm sometimes takes an extra week — confirm lead time before ordering if you need it fast.
Both finishes are available on all sizes, including the 25mm. The black cryogenic finish is our standard option, but if you need silver, just specify that in your order.
Our MOQ for any individual size like the 11.5mm is 50 pieces. If you're mixing sizes in one order, we can lower that to 25 per size.
Yes, we can issue a mill test certificate for the stainless steel. Just request it when you place the order, and we'll include it with the shipment.
For a mixed batch like that, expect around 15-20 working days. We keep popular sizes like 8mm and 15mm in stock, so those would ship faster if you need a partial order.
We can adjust the length within that range, but we don't offer lengths outside 70mm-130mm for this series. If you need something longer or shorter, let us know the exact spec and we'll check if it's feasible.
