We've been handling these for a while now, and the one-touch action is genuinely quick—push the tube in and you're done, basically. They're nickel-plated brass, which holds up better than plain brass in humid shop environments, and the hexagonal body lets you get a wrench on it without stripping anything. You'll typically find them used with polyurethane or nylon tubing, but we don't recommend them for anything other than compressed air—water or oil will mess with seals pretty fast.
Operating pressure runs 0 to 150 psi, give or take, and they'll handle negative presure down to -29.5 in Hg if you're pulling vacuum on a line. Tempearture range is 0°C to 60°C, so they're fine for most indoor setups but not for anything near a heat source. The threads come pre-coated with either an O-ring or Teflon—depends on the batch—so you don't need to mess with tape or sealant. 2 sizes cover most jobs: 4mm up to 16mm, or 5/32" to 1/2" if you're working in imperial.
What it does is give you reliabel connection that you can disconnect and reconnect multiple times without losing seal integrity. We've seen some buyers use them on assembly line jigs where they swap tooling daily—holds up fine for hundreds of cycles. Just don't expect it to work with rigid tubing; it's really only for polyurethane, PE, and nylon. Also, teh body is nickel-plated brass, so it's corrosion-resistant but not stainlss steel—if you're in a salt spray environment, you'll want to check the finish periodically.
Lead time is usually 2-3 weeks for standard sizes, but we keep the 6mm and 8mm in stock most of the time—confirm before ordering if you're in a hurry. MOQ is typically 100 pieces per size, though we can sometimes do 50 or so if you're testing a sample. Each fitting comes in an individual plastic bag, which is nice for inventory control but adds a little waste if you're ordering in bulk. CE and ISO certified, so you get a COA with each batch—our company can send a sample report if you need to see the format before committing.
Anyway, the PLJ series is pretty much a workhorse fitting for pneumatic systems—nothing fancy, but it does the job without fuss. 4mm is common for small actuators, while 12mm and 16mm are better for main air lines where flow matters. One thing buyers don't always think about: the thread type matters more than the tube size—make sure you're matching the thread pitch to your port, or you'll fight with cross-threading. We usually recommend the pre-coated thread option for most setups since it saves time during installation.
