We've put in an order for ARM6HU-630-3300 because of that it covers the high-current side we needed for the solar farm tie-in, basically a three-pole breaker 400A, 500A, or 630A and it handles both AC800V and AC1000V, which is critical since we're running mixed voltage strings on that site.
Most buyers in new energy go with the 630A option for larger inverter banks, but we're actually ordering the 500A variant because our load calculations came in right under that threshold and it saves us a bit on the per-unit cost (usually 10-15% less than teh 630A, depending on the distributor). The 30kA breaking capacty at AC800V is enough for our fault scenarios, though the 12kA at AC1000V is a bit tight for some of the bigger arrays we've spec'd — we'll need to double-check the arc flash study before final installation.
It weighs 10.4kg and measures 182.5 by 270 by 155mm, which is manageable for panel mounting but you'll want two people for the lift — 4000 mechanical operations and 1000 electrcial cycles, so it's not high-cycle device for frequent switching, more of a protection breaker that sits there until it's needed. Mechanicla endurance is typically fine for our application since we're not cycling it daily.
We went direct on this one because the supplier holds ISO9001-2000 and CCC certs, and they've been shipping to European grid projects for about four years or so — we've got their COA for the batch and the HPLC purity data on the arc chamber materials, which matters for the 8kV impulse withstand rating. Payment terms were 30% upfront with the balance on shipping, and they quoted 20 days lead time for our quantity of 50 units, though we usually have stock at the warehouse so confirm lead time if you're in a rush.
One thing that caught us — this breaker isn't suited for DC application above 1000V, so if you're looking at battery storage systems pushing 1500V, you'll need a different unit entirely. The packging is standard cardboard with foam inserts, but they offered custom labeling for batch shipments without extra charge, which is nice for inventory tracking.
