We've been shipping these for a while now, and most buyers go with the 4.5m length — it gives you a bit more reach without the cable being too heavy to handle. It's air cooled, which basically means no water circulation to worry about, but you do lose some duty cycle potential compared to liquid-cooled setups. The 500A on CO2 is pretty impressive for a torch this size, and the 400A rating for mixed gas is what you'll actually be using in most production environments anyway.

Wire size range goes from 1.0mm up to 1.6mm, so you're covered for most strucutral work — think heavy plate fabrication or shipbuilding. One thing we don't always mention is that the contact tips wear faster at the upper end of that range, so stock up if you're running 1.6mm consistently. The Fronius connector is standard, so it'll mate up with your existing system without any adapters, but do check your machine's amperage output before ordering.

CE and ISO9001 are on the COA, and we usually have stock of the 3.5m and 4.5m versions, but the 4.5m is what we keep more of — it's the better seller by a fair margin. Duty cycle is 100% at the rated currents, which means you can run it continuously without thermal shutdown, but keep in mind that ambient temperture and your actual welding technique will affect that in practice. We've had a few customers push it past 500A briefly on heavy sections, but it's not designed for that.

It's not really suited for thin sheet metal work below 2mm — the amperage is just too high for that, and you'll burn through before you get a decent bead. For anything over 15mm thick, though, it handles it pretty well, and the ergonomic handle design helps when you're doing overhead or vertical-up welds for extended periods. The single flame configuration is standard for MIG torches, nothing fancy there.

MOQ is typically 10 units for the 3.5m version and 5 units for teh 4.5m, but our company can do smaller orders if you're just testing a prototype or replacing a single torch.
