We're ordering this for a batch of metabolic pathway studies we've got lined up, and honestly purity spec—≥99% by HPLC—is what finally pushed it over teh edge for me, since most buyers I've spoken to say anything below that introduces noticeable variability in their dose-response work, and we just can't have that right now.
The is standdard for this grade, and it's soluble in water so reconstitution is straightforward, though you'll want to keep it at -20°C protected form light once you get it or it degrades faster than you'd think—I've had a lab assistant leave a vial out overnight once and we basically had to toss the batch.
We're getting the 5mg vials (usually 10 vials per order), but they also do 1mg and 2mg if you're running lower concentration assays; the MOQ is 50 vials for bulk pricing, which works out to about £12 per vial if you order 100 or so, give or take depending on lead time which is roughly 2-3 weeks from order.
What you actually get when you place the order is a sealed vial with a COA for that specific batch—they test each lot individually, which is better than reagent grade for this where you often get a generic certifcate—and the CAS number is 910463-68-2 if your procurement system needs it for tracking.
One thing to note: this is strictly research grade, not suited for any in vivo work beyond cell-based assays, and the molecular weight is 4113.6 g/mol if you're calculating molar concentrations, though I wouldn't rely on that number being exact for every batch since there's always slight variance around 0.5% or so.
Also, the packging is pretty straightforward—individual vials in a foil pouch with desiccant—but we usually have stock, so confirm lead time before ordering if you need it in under 20 days.
