We needed a kids bike line that could actually handle the production volume we're projecting, and this model's monthly capacty of 20,000 units covers our lead times comfortably — even if we push 5,000 or so per order, they can still deliver within 30 days or so. It's basically a carbon steel soft-tail frame with single-speed gearing, which for the 3-8 age range is pretty much standard, since most kids aren't shifting anyway and the brake line system stops reliably enough.
The adjustable height feature is what sold me, really, because of that it means the bike can go form a 12-inch wheel setup up to a 20-inch without swapping the frame, so parents get two or three years of use before the kid outgrows it. They quoted CE certifcation and the frame uses argon-arc welding, but I've seen these bikes in person before — the welds are clean, no rough edges, and the training wheels (which are optional) actually bolt on solidly, unlike some cheap knockoffs that wobble after a few rides.
Wheel sizes they offer are 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20 inches, and you can pick air tires or EVA ones depending on the terrain — air tires are better for pavement, but EVA is lighter and never goes flat, which some buyers might prefer for storage or safety. Colors are red, black, blue, green, yellow, and logos can be custom-printed; we're probably going with our brand name on the downtube and a small graphic on the chain guard.
Load capacity is rated 20-50 kg, which is roughly 44 to 110 pounds, and the net weight for the 16-inch model is about 9.5 kg — heavy enough to feel stable, but light enough that a 6-year-old can drag it up the driveway. The pedals are plastic with reflectors, which is fine for this price point, but we might ask about metal pedals as an option for higher-end orders.
MOQ is just 100 pieces, so we can test a small batch before committing to a full container, but the lead time on custom logos is usually 2-3 weeks after approval — something to factor in if we're on a tight schedule. Also, they don't mention frame sizes for the top tube length, so we'll need to verify that smallest wheels (12-inch) have a low standover height for 3-year-olds, since that's a common complaint with cheap import bikes.
