The main thing to know upfront is that custom plush toys from a China-based factory almost always require a minimum order quantty that’s higher than you’d expect for a first run — we usually see MOQs around 500 to 1000 units per design, depending on complexity, so it’s not a fit for a one-off retail test unless you’re consolidating SKUs.
That said, if you’re sourcing for a promotional campaign or a branded mascot rollout, economics actually work in your favor because the per-unit cost drops significantly once you’re past that threshold, and we’ve seen lead times of roughly 30 to 45 days from sample approval to shipment, which is pretty standard for this category.
Every plush toy we ship comes with documentation — our company provide a COA on request, and teh materials (polyester fiberfill and plush fabric) are tested against ASTM F963-17 and EN71, so you’re covered for most retail or corporate gifting channels, but don’t expect CPC or CE certificates unless you specifically ask for them at the quote stage.
Sizes run from mini (about 6 inches) to large (24 inches or so), and we can adjust the filling density — some buyers go with a lighter fill for softness, others want it firmer for shape retention, and the PP cotton we use is basically standard polyester fiberfill, so it’s not a premium material but it holds up well in shiping.
For payment, we typically work on a 30% deposit with the balance due before shipping, and we accept T/T or L/C — we’ve also done PayPal for smaller orders under $500, but that’s rare for wholesale; also, we’ll issue a proforma invoice with the HS code 9503008900 for customs clearance, which is the standard for plush toys.
We usually have stock of ready-made models in common animal shapes (bears, rabbits, dogs) that you can order immediately, but for custom designs you’ll need to allow 7 to 10 days for sample creation — the sample cost is typically deducted from the bulk order, so it’s not a sunk cost, but confirm that upfront because not every supplier does that.
The outer plush is made from eco-friendly polyester, and the filling is polyester fiberfill (PP cotton). Both materials meet standard eco-requirements for safety and sustainability.
