The six crimping segments on this unit—0.25 to 6.0 mm²—mean it will handle basically every ferrule terminal we usually see in electrcial wiring. It’s got a stainlss steel head, which is good, but the ergonomic plastic handle is actually what makes it tolerable for extended use.
Most buyers go with the 10mg, and we’ve found the ratcheting mechanism is pretty much the standerd for consistent crimps. The auto-release triggers only when the proper pressure is reached, so there’s no guesswork on the force—and the half-box joint structure keeps jaws aligned even on the smaller 0.25 mm² ferrules. Also, the blister packaging is fine for keeping it visible, but we usually have stock, so confirm lead time if you’re ordering more than 20 units or so.
It’s not really suited for heavy-gauge power cables above 6.0 mm²—you’ll need a hydraulic crimper for that. What it does is work well in small panel boxes and junction terminals, where the straight shaft gives you decent access. We’ve had it on order form the same suplier for a few years now, and the colorful handles help differentiate tools on a messy bench.
The CE certification is listed, and the manual operation keeps it simple for field use. Lead time from the supplier is typically 10-14 business days (sometimes it slips to 20 days or so).
