We've been handling these bonded washers for years now, and the zinc plating holds up pretty well in most environments — it's the go-to for standard applications, though you'll want something else if you're dealing with constant salt spray.
carbon steel options cover GR.2 through GR.8, so basically Q195 up to 42CrMo depending on what tensile strength you're chasing, and the stainless grades like SS304 or SS316 are there for when corrosion resistnce matters more than raw hardness. Most buyers go with the M8 or M10 sizes, but we can do M5 through M12 without much trouble. 25kg carton boxes on pallets is the standard packaging, 36 or 48 cartons per pallet depending on what you need. One thing that catches people off guard is the bonded rubber layer — it's EPDM, not neoprene, so check your chemical compatibilty before ordering a big batch.
Surface finish options are actually pretty extensive beyond just the zinc — black oxide, nickel, hot dip galvanized, even Geomet if you're doing automotive stuff. But for most industrial uses, zinc plated is fine and it's usually in stock.
Thread types run UNC, UNF, or metric, and we can match them to SAE J429 or DIN 6921 standards, though lead time varies if you're asking for something outside the usual range.
These aren't great for high-temperture application — the bonded rubber will degrade above maybe 120°C or so, and that's just a fact, not something our company can fix with a different coating.
We can use any of those three for GR.8, depending on your order. If you have a preference for 40Cr or 35CrMo, just let us know when you place the order and we'll make sure that's what goes into production.
Our standard MOQ is 10,000 pieces per size and grade, but we can be flexible for first-time orders or smaller trials. Just send over your target quantity and we'll see what we can do.
Yes, we can issue a mill test certificate per heat number for any carbon steel grade you order. Just make sure to request it in the PO and we'll include it with the shipment at no extra cost.
Standard zinc plating is about 5-8 microns, and we can run a neutral salt spray test per ASTM B117 if you need it. Let us know the hours you're targeting and we'll adjust the plating thickness to meet that.
Normally they go into the carton in poly bags or small boxes to keep them organized and prevent scratching. If you prefer all loose in one carton or a specific inner pack count, we can customize that too.
