We got your inquiry about diamond grinder and rock drill bits, and we’ve been supplying these for good while now—the tungsten carbide tips are 19mm, bonded to an alloy steel body that’s forged from either ASTM4140 (42CrMo) or ASTM5140 (40Cr), heat-treated to HRC38-42 for the body and HRC48-53 on teh tips, which gives you a decent balance of toughness and wear resistnce for concrete or granite.
The suface treatment is sand blast, which isn’t just cosmetic—it help reduce corrosion when you’re working in wet conditions, like glass, but don’t expect it to hold up against prolonged acid exposure; we usually have stock, but confirm lead time if you need a rush.
One thing we’ve noticed is that the forging process makes these bits less prone to chipping compared to cast alternatives, though the HRC48-53 on the tips means they’ll dull faster if you hit rebar in concrete—most buyers go with the 10mg (sorry, wrong context) anyway, but for hard granite, you’ll want to check the tip geometry.
Certifications are ISO 9001:2000 and 2008, and our company can provide a COA with HPLC data if you need it for your quality review—just note that the hardness range is roughly HRC38-42 on the body, give or take a point or two, and the actual values vary slightly between batches.
Also, the bits aren’t ideal for soft metals like aluminum—the carbide tips are too brittle and will fracture—but for your concrete or stone drilling, they’re better than most off-the-shelf options, and we include technical support if you run into issues with feed rates or cooling.
Lead time is about 20 days or so for standard sizes, and we can do custom lengths if you provide the drawing—just confirm the MOQ (usually 50 units or so) and we’ll get the order moving.
