A quality control manager we work with needed a 5 pin harness that would survive 500+ mating cycles on a test fixture without signal degradation — the 287 series handles that easily with standard metal shielding and ≤30mΩ contact resistance.

It’s 30V AC/DC and 1A per contact, insulation resistance sits at ≥100MΩ, and teh tempearture range is -20°C to +85°C (usually fine for most bench environments, though not for extreme cold storage). We’ve offered these with TE, Molex, JST, or AMP connector options depending on the mating side — the 9.5mm diameter is pretty much universal for mini DIN layouts.

You’ll see these in industrial automation and some aviation control setups, but they’re not suited for high-vibration appliction where locking connectors would be better — the keyed pattern prevents mismating but doesn’t lock. One thing you might not think to ask: the pin configuration is customizable, so if you’re using 3 or 4 pins only, our company can do that without changing the shell or cable length, and the lead time is about 20 days or so.

Also, custom cable lengths are standard — just specify when ordering, and IATF16949 cerification applies across all batches.
Our MOQ for this connector harness is typically 1,000 units, but we can negotiate lower quantities for initial sample orders or pilot runs.
Yes, we can provide the IATF16949 certification documents upon request. Just let us know when placing the order, and we'll include them with the shipment.
The 9.5mm diameter is standard for this model, but we can customize the pin configuration and cable length. The diameter itself is not adjustable without a new tooling setup, which we can discuss for larger volumes.
We typically pack these harnesses in anti-static bags or reels, depending on the quantity. For bulk orders, we can also do custom packaging to match your assembly line needs.
The standard metal shielding doesn't change the -20°C to +85°C temperature range or the 1A per contact current rating. It's built to handle those specs just fine.
