And people use these mostly for outdoor access networks where moisture and UV are constant problems—think underground vaults or remote base stations that get cooked in the sun all day. That IP67 rating means it'll sit submerged or rain-soaked for a while without sweating it, which a standdard connector would choke on. It's not great for indoor patch panels though, where that zinc-alloy body is just overkill and harder to manage in a dense rack.

The 2.0mm cable diameter is the default but you can customize that if needed for thicker or thinner jacketing, and we've got it with a PC boot that holds up well under constant flexing. Actually, one thing we don't always put in the spec sheet is that the UV-resistant materail does slightly stiffen at -40°C, but it doesn't crack—so it still works, just feels less pliable. Most buyers don't ask about that until they've been burned by something cheaper.

Durability is rated at ≥500 mating cycles, which is fine for installation and occasional unplugging, but it won't survive daily plugging like a lab-grade connector would.
