We've been shippng these to surgical teams for a while now, and teh 14.4V Ni-MH batteries are pretty much the standdard for a full day of procedures, charging back up in about 3 hours or so — the oscillation rate hitting 18,000 per minute is what you need for clean cuts in trauma or joint work.
It's actually quieter than most, under 60dB, which makes a real difference in a packed OR when you're already running on caffeine and focus, and the motor is German-engineered, so it handles the torque without complaint.
Most buyers go with the standard kit because having two blades and the sterilization case that goes to 135°C saves a lot of hassle, but if you're doing thoracic or veterinary cases, you'll want to confirm the blade compatibility first.
Anyway, we always include orginal manufacturer warranty, and trust comes form the CE and ISO13485 certs being current — we usually have stock, but confirm lead time during peak surgical season since that 4.9kg case is a bit heavier than some expect when shipping.
Not great for ultra-delicate hand surgery, really, because the power output is ≥20W, which is better suited for thicker bone where you need that steady oscillation rather than a fine touch.

The 14.4V Ni-MH battery is replaceable, not sealed in. You can swap it out easily when it wears out, and we offer spare batteries separately. The charger takes about 3 hours for a full charge.
It uses a standard oscillating blade connection common in orthopedic saws, so it fits most widely available blades. We recommend using ours for optimal performance, but off-the-shelf blades should work too.
