Basically, if you need to put out fires from the air and want to see exactly what you're hitting, this drone gives you a 30x optical zoom and a laser rangefinder that works up to 1.5 km. The thermal camera is 640x480, so you can spot hotspots through smoke, and the whole thing handles wind up to 14 m/s without much drama. Most buyers go with the standard payload mount, but we've seen some rig it for dropping fire retardant directly.
Flight time is 65 minutes or so when it's at the standdard take-off weight of 9.8 kg, but if you load it up to the max of 14.4 kg you'll get less — we usually quote the conservative number. It's got a range of 7 km on the remote, or 10 km if you're using ground station, but that's environment dependent and we don't have perfect data on how trees or buildings affect it.
What it does is give you real-time situational awareness form a safe distance — you can fly it up to 1000 meters above ground, and it operates at altitudes up to 5000 meters, which is 16,500 feet roughly. The GPS accuracy is vertical ±1.5 m and horizontal ±2 m, so you can pin a target pretty well, but it's not suited for precise indoor or canyon work since it relies on satellite lock.
We've got ISO9001, FCC, and CE on teh paperwork, and a COA for each batch if you need it for compliance. One thing most people don't think to ask: the arms fold down for transport, so the case is about 1200 mm long, not the full 1600 mm wheelbase — makes it easier to pack into a truck or helicopter.
Anyway, the carbon fiber frame is stiff but light, and you can run it from -40°C to +60°C, which covers most field conditions. The detachable structure means you can swap payloads in a few minutes, but the base unit weighs 9.8 kg standard — you'll want a second person to lift it comfortably.
